Windows Mobile 6 for Treo 750: control your voice mail

By Mauricio Freitas, in , posted: 30-Jul-2007 11:58

This is really neat. A new feature in the AT&T version of the Palm Treo 750 ROM allows you to manage your voice mail playback with the directional pad on your Treo.

It works really well with the Vodafone New Zealand voice mail system.

I hope Vodafone New Zealand doesn't remove this feature (or includes it) when they come around to actually releasing the Windows Mobile 6 ROM upgrade for the Treo 750v here in New Zealand (which seems to be taking forever).

this has always been avaliable in the palm treo 750v..
its just a tick in a check box.

I am not sure this was available before... It's not a Today plugin.

you setup the missed calls today plugin where there is a default entry for voicemail.

you then go into the voice mail option and then tick a box for show buttons or someting like that.. cant remember.. i have setup 3 treo 750v's now and its defentely there.. i have a treo on my desk at work. i'll charge it up and have a look.

Centralized voicemail control allows users to stay on top of all accounts with a consistent set of on-screen controls to listen to voicemail, save or delete messages, or skip to the next message

Hmmm. I've never noticed this on my Palm. Granted, I was running a pre-production unit - perhaps that?

Yes, I've just looked at another unit (Treo 700wx) and it's there... Ooops, sorry.

A much cooler feature would be 'visual voicemail':

a list on your screen with all voicemails that you can instantly listen to or delete.

This requires a special voicemail platform on the operator side.

But I believe that the Apple IPhone has it and AT&T in the US has the platform...
