Palm releases Windows Mobile 6 update for Treo 750v New Zealand

By Mauricio Freitas, in , posted: 18-Jan-2008 09:41

Wow!

It took sometime but it's here now: Windows Mobile 6 update for Treo 750v Vodafone New Zealand.

I don't know why it took so long but this is a must have update for your Palm Treo 750v (New Zealand only!). I haven't tested it yet (a friend is using my Treo 750v at the moment), but I am told it provides improved Calendar management, Voice Commande over Bluetooth, USB cable charging and the much expected HSDPA update!

You can only download it once and you must be running a Vodafone-branded Windows Mobile on your Palm to update it.

Only download it once?! what if you downloaded it and just luck so happened that your computer fried before you had a chance to install the update and had to get it again?

There is a license charge from MS to Palm per device. So they can't offer it as free for all, and need to track by serial number. I'm sure you can punch the serial number in again, and once it's applied there's no need to do it again, is there......?

This happened to me, for some reason download did not finish. I just contacted customer service and they issued another serial number. They were quick and helpful. This is a first for customer services i have found. Yay Palm.
